5 kW solar: questions

How many units does a 5 kW solar system generate per day in Indore?

About 20 units a day averaged over the year — 22–24 units on clear March–May days and 12–15 units on overcast monsoon days. That is roughly 7,300 units a year.

Do I need a three-phase connection for 5 kW solar?

Not always. Single-phase 5 kW inverters exist, but many DISCOM connections of this size are already three-phase. We check your sanctioned load and phase during the survey and specify the inverter to match.

How much solar subsidy can I get in Madhya Pradesh?

Under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, homes get ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW and ₹18,000 for the third kW — ₹30,000 for 1 kW, ₹60,000 for 2 kW and a maximum of ₹78,000 for 3 kW or more. Housing societies and RWAs get ₹18,000 per kW for common facilities.

Who is eligible for the PM Surya Ghar solar subsidy?

An Indian household with its own house and roof suitable for solar, a valid domestic electricity connection, and no earlier solar subsidy on that connection. The system must use DCR (domestic content) modules and be installed by a vendor registered on the national portal.
